How often should Wheel Alignment, Balancing and Rotation be done?

Wheel Alignment, Balancing and Rotation are 3 terminologies that are totally different in both meaning and practice. A slight oversight in catering to these aspects can lead to some problems from a vibration of your steering wheel, to risky driving conditions. These practices should be given equal attention for a smooth and safe ride of your vehicle.

What is Wheel Alignment?

Wheel Alignment means that all wheels of the vehicle is properly aligned in the way they should be. These settings usually need adjustment with the time and usage of the car to keep them properly aligned. Wheel alignment takes an important role in the dynamics of the vehicle in terms of motion. It is an act that the geometric angles of Caster, Camber and Toe are correct in a tyre.

Wheel Alignment should be done in a regular basis. In terms of how often it should be done, you need wheel alignment when:

●  You observe an uneven or abnormal tyre wear
●  You experience that your steering wheel has issues like the vehicle is drifting towards left or right and your steering is hard to return after you take a turn.

When you are at the service center just to replace your steering or your suspension components, don’t go home without checking the wheel alignment of your vehicle

Having Wheel alignment can be done in about 30 minutes to an hour’s time. Adjustments will be made to each appropriate wheel. Your vehicle will be test-driven before and after the alignment.

Wheel Balancing is a process of equalizing the combined weights of the tyre and the wheel assembly to spin it smoothly at high speed. Wheel balancing is a must because when a wheel rotates, the weight along its rotating axis must be properly balanced to avoid undesirable vibrations and swaying of the wheel. It can also cause ride disturbances, and as well as vertical and lateral vibrations.
